Sometimes there are things that are too precious to let go - Emi Zako
Thank you so much everyone who voted for my book cover and shared the information about the contest with your family and friends. I published "How Are You, Shuta?" in April. It is written and illustrated by me. It was such a great feeling to have accomplished something that I always wanted to do. Then I realized I need to let people know about my book but didn't know how. I had a Facebook account which I had not used for myself. I used it for a GoFoundMe campaign when I supported the funeral cost of someone who was very important to me. I am learning how to use Facebook and Twitter account; I sat 24/7 in front of my computer. Fortunately, I met a wonderful author who taught me a lot and gave me the information about Allauthor through Facebook; this led me to registered and signed up my book cover to the Allauthor contest. Life is so amazing. I have never met her, and she lives so far from where I am; however, we clicked, and she helped me and taught me so much. Now I am so thankful that my book cover is still in the contest. I met many kind people through Facebook and Twitter who support me. I didn't have anyone following me at first because I had never used it; I didn't know how to post anything and didn't know # means. I was following "Kelly and Ryan" and "Ellen". Now I am connected with more than 300 people within a few weeks. Many people help me to connect with the others and retweet my post of the contest and vote for my book cover! I make mistakes a lot when I use Twitter; I just don't know what to do sometimes. I am learning how to utilize these social medias everyday. People are very kind; they teach me and give me advice. I hope my book cover stays until the end of June! This week is harder than the last week because my book cover needs to stay within the Top 24. Then Top 20 will be announced the end of June. Please continue to vote every week and keep my book cover in the contest.

Here is an idea for early learning activities. First, read a book that links to an activity. For example, Let's Go To The Beach, Shuta! is a great book to incorporate with creative art to make sea animal collages! This book gives a great idea of what kind of sea animals children can find at the beach and help them to create their wonderful art piece collages! You almost don't need to buy anything. You can find most of the items around house. You can cut off some papers for shapes like fish, starfish, shells, and etc. You can use fabric, papers, glitter and etc. For younger children (2-3 years old), you can precut materials for them so that they don't need to stress about it and can just enjoy the activity. For kindergarten aged children, you can encourage them to help cutting the decorative items; this way, they can still practice using scissors yet they don't need to stress about making mistake. For older children, you can suggest them to cut everything themselves. Children can have fun and be proud of their wonderful collages! Children are artist! Encourage them to express what they like and their creativity! You can find the book, Let's Go To The Beach, Shuta! at Amazon. My new book is coming soon! I mean very soon, maybe tomorrow?! Because I already submitted it.
Publishing "How Are You, Shuta?" was my root of motivation for all this: I became an author of children's books. I finished it in April 16th and I was able to produce total of 4 books in this short period time. I am not finish Shuta series, I will still produce more of Shuta, but I just really wanted to write this new book. This book is based on a true story, and I couldn't wait to share with you guys. As matter of a fact that I have a Youtube video that I made for my college work based on this story. If you are interested, just go to Youtube or you can visit my AllAuthor profile. It is very funny, and I am shy to listen to it. However, it was my project for Children's Literature course and I rather did this than reading a book that existed. The Youtube video and my new book are not exactly the same because the video was Storytelling by my point of view. So I am not going to spoil the new book. But you know, the tile is "White Socks". I am very excited. Your child will enjoy meeting with interesting creatures that he/she can find around house. Young children will enjoy interactive reading with Shuta and colorful illustrations. This is a perfect birthday gift and a great book for Early Learning. please visit: https://www.amazon.com/author/emizako https://allauthor.com/author/emiako Thank you so much for sharing this cute picture! I love writing Shuta's books. But there is one book that I really want to publish so I am working on it right now. This book is going to be a perfect book for elementary school children. This book promotes children to understand emotions. There are a lot of different way to say how we feels and I am focusing on that.
By the way, this book is based on a true story! I am laughing out loud while I am writing this book. It just reminds me what happened. As matter of a fact, I have a telling story video in YouTube about this incident. I created the video because there was an assignment for Children's Literature course which we had to create a telling story video. The assignment did not required to have an original story and we could use a book or story that it had been told; however, we had to memorize it. I just did not want to memorized a book or story so I created one. Because it is based on a true story, I didn't need to memorized anything. I just needed to tell the story. If anyone interested in the youtube video, please visit: https://youtu.be/r2DkJ-Nde50 emizako.allauthor.com It is in my profile. I received a very cute picture! I am so happy to see many people enjoy the Shuta series! It is a great birthday gift for young children. If anyone wants me to share your child's picture with Shuta book, please send it to me via email. I will post here.
[email protected]. What makes me happy is more children will read my Shuta series.
When people post their children's happy moments of reading Shuta books to facebook, I feel like I am receiving a big award! Here is one of posts that I found in facebook. She loves Shuta book! Her mom posted that she wanted to bring it in the car! This is the moment that I love: Kids love Shuta! It motivates me to create more of Shuta books! Please send me if you have any pictures or videos and I can use them in my blog to show how your children love Shuta! You can email me: emizako831@gmail Twitter: @emiz_zako Instagram: emizakoshuta |
