Sometimes there are things that are too precious to let go - Emi Zako
This is it! This week is the final round of Allauthor Cover of the Month contest!
It was a stressful experience. I am excited and nervous every week. I hope my book cover stays in top 10. At the beginning of this month, I started using Twitter and am still don't know so much of it. I actually typing in English and Japanese to tweets but my computer does not have Japanese language so I have to use my cell phone. I created a poster for the final round because I thought everyone probably seeing Shuta's book cover so many time; just adding somethings more exciting doesn't hurt, right? I think it came out really cute. It still the same Shuta's cover but doesn't have the title. This is my advantage because I am the illustrator so I can change those things. If my book stays in top 10, it would be so wonderful because the cover is my artwork and represent my love to Shuta. The picture is one of my favorite pictures of Shuta.

Thank you so much everyone who voted for my book cover and shared the information about the contest with your family and friends. I published "How Are You, Shuta?" in April. It is written and illustrated by me. It was such a great feeling to have accomplished something that I always wanted to do. Then I realized I need to let people know about my book but didn't know how. I had a Facebook account which I had not used for myself. I used it for a GoFoundMe campaign when I supported the funeral cost of someone who was very important to me. I am learning how to use Facebook and Twitter account; I sat 24/7 in front of my computer. Fortunately, I met a wonderful author who taught me a lot and gave me the information about Allauthor through Facebook; this led me to registered and signed up my book cover to the Allauthor contest. Life is so amazing. I have never met her, and she lives so far from where I am; however, we clicked, and she helped me and taught me so much. Now I am so thankful that my book cover is still in the contest. I met many kind people through Facebook and Twitter who support me. I didn't have anyone following me at first because I had never used it; I didn't know how to post anything and didn't know # means. I was following "Kelly and Ryan" and "Ellen". Now I am connected with more than 300 people within a few weeks. Many people help me to connect with the others and retweet my post of the contest and vote for my book cover! I make mistakes a lot when I use Twitter; I just don't know what to do sometimes. I am learning how to utilize these social medias everyday. People are very kind; they teach me and give me advice. I hope my book cover stays until the end of June! This week is harder than the last week because my book cover needs to stay within the Top 24. Then Top 20 will be announced the end of June. Please continue to vote every week and keep my book cover in the contest. Here is an idea for early learning activities. First, read a book that links to an activity. For example, Let's Go To The Beach, Shuta! is a great book to incorporate with creative art to make sea animal collages! This book gives a great idea of what kind of sea animals children can find at the beach and help them to create their wonderful art piece collages! You almost don't need to buy anything. You can find most of the items around house. You can cut off some papers for shapes like fish, starfish, shells, and etc. You can use fabric, papers, glitter and etc. For younger children (2-3 years old), you can precut materials for them so that they don't need to stress about it and can just enjoy the activity. For kindergarten aged children, you can encourage them to help cutting the decorative items; this way, they can still practice using scissors yet they don't need to stress about making mistake. For older children, you can suggest them to cut everything themselves. Children can have fun and be proud of their wonderful collages! Children are artist! Encourage them to express what they like and their creativity! You can find the book, Let's Go To The Beach, Shuta! at Amazon.
